Something Is Missing
For the seeker who knows there is more — and cannot stop looking.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6 — King James Version
There is a hunger that religion cannot satisfy.
You may have sat in services, gone through the motions, sung the songs — and still walked out empty. Not because God was not real. But because something was missing between you and Him, and you could feel it even when no one else could see it.
That hunger is not a flaw. It is a signal.
Jesus said the people who hunger and thirst after righteousness are blessed — not the people who already have it figured out, not the ones who grew up in the right church or memorized the right answers. The ones who are still looking. Still reaching. Still unsatisfied with what they have found so far.
That is you. And that hunger is God drawing you.
He does not put a desire for Himself in a person and then hide from them. He put the hunger there because He intends to fill it. The Word promises it plainly — they shall be filled.
Not they might be filled. Not they will be filled if they perform well enough. They shall be filled.
If you are reading this with an ache in your chest that you cannot fully name, take that ache seriously. It is pointing somewhere. It is pointing to Him.
For Reflection
What have you tried to fill this hunger with that has not satisfied it? What would it mean to stop settling?
Prayer
Lord, I am hungry. I do not fully understand what I am looking for, but I believe You put this hunger in me. Lead me to the place where it is filled. I will not stop until I find it.
